Hidden Treasure

For Pondering:

Some treasure is sunken in the sea. Most of it, however, is buried right under our feet–in our families, our communities, even within ourselves. Become a prospector who plunders the loot from this great bounty.

For Pondering:

Those of us who live in white brick houses with black shutters could stand a little artistic style.

First President

For Pondering:

George Washington was the ninth President of the United States! The United States was established on July 4, 1776, but Washington was not inaugurated president until 13 years later after the constitution had been written and ratified in 1788. A Better Way

For Pondering:

Today we memorialize those who gave their lives fighting for our nation in war. Let us give grateful thanks for their sacrifice. There is no national holiday to remember peace pacifists who chose to follow an ancient eccentric rabbi proclaiming, “those who live by the sword, die by the sword.

Today, let us also remember them all, and find a better way.

For Pondering:

On the day after Mother’s Day, we should also give thanks to the thousands of adoptive and foster families who choose to share their family love.
